Thursday, February 2nd, the Transportation Infrastructure committee in the U.S. House of Representatives will be voting on our nation's next multiyear surface transportation bill.

There is no way to spin this: From the perspective of bicycling, walking, and trails, the bill is a total disaster.

Kansas City, MO - infoZine -The City of Kansas City, Mo., has partnered with the City of Gladstone, Mo., to extend the Shoal Creek Trail west from Happy Rock Park (at Northeast 76th Street and North Antioch Road) toward Maple Woods Community College. Construction of this trail includes a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge over Shoal Creek to the east side of Missouri Route 1.

Construction crews will work along Shoal Creek from Missouri Route 1 north to Northeast 82nd Street. The trail will be a 10-feet wide concrete multi-use path, which will connect residents of the area to Maplewoods Community College, Happy Rock Park, transit routes and commercial shopping areas along Route 1.
