The Equestrian Group of Northland Trails and Greenways invites you to join us in a meeting at Dave and Evelyn Thompson's house on January 25th, 2007. The purpose of the meeting is to a)plan a maintenance stragegy for the Smithville Lake Horse and Hiking Trail (Crow's Creek) for 2007 b)encourage trail users from various equine groups to join us in maintaining and improving the trail c)discuss the "Adopt-A-Trail" program and d)plan for "Trail Trotters Day". We encourage you to bring ideas for trail improvements to the meeting.
Many folks do not know that the horse trail is maintained by volunteers. Please note that several of our volunteers do not own or ride a horse. This is an opportunity for all interests to make a difference. Without volunteers, there would not be a trail. We are most fortunate to have 26 miles of beautiful trail riding so close to home.
For the last couple of years trail work volunteers (mostly Kearney Saddle Club members) have worked on Thursdays during the day. This year we hope to develope a list of "trail work needed", by section of trail, and to make that list available for volunteers to help with those tasks at your convenience.
We encourage your membership in Northland Trails and Greenways. The money collected from dues and donations helps to promote and maintain trails in Clay and Platte Counties. {mos_sb_discuss:6}
